Summary:
Holidays provide a very specific space in which to photograph, they are days that break with others in order to focus on a tradition, custom, person of history, or religious ceremony. The idea is that we will spend these days off celebrating, remembering, and commemorating. I have found that today we more often spend our time gathering, relaxing, and eating. My photographs attempt to capture, in spaces both public and private, a culture and society that is troubled, yet triumphant in moments small.
