Summary: SHIBUYA is a collection of unposed “portraits” taken in the vicinity of Tokyo’s Shibuya station, which is one of Japan’s busiest transportation hubs and also a global center of youth culture and fashion. The photographs were made between 2008-2010, an unnerving period when news of local stabbing sprees, international banking collapses and worldwide flu pandemics rattled the populace and made even the daily commute seem akin to a heroic journey of sorts.
